Voyage autour du monde de Bougainville
Accompagné d'un naturaliste, d'un dessinateur et d'un astronome, il part de Brest le 15 décembre 1766 pour un voyage autour du monde à bord de la frégate la Boudeuse. Une second bateau l'Étoile, une flûte (navire de charge), parti de Rochefort le 1er février 1767, le rejoint pour le tour du monde le 13 juin 1767 à Rio de Janeiro après deux rendez-vous manqués aux Malouines et dans l'embouchure du Rio de la PLata. Il terminera son tour du monde en mars 1768.
Le navigateur traversera au cours de son périple l'Amérique du Sud, le détroit de Magellan, les Îles Samoa ou encore Tahiti. Voici en lecture intégrale le récit de son aventure.
