le Pont tournant de Brest à porté plusieurs noms successifs:
- Pont Impérial (Napoléon III) 1852-1870
- Pont National (III république) 1870-1940
- Grand Pont (nom commun dans le langage brestois)
Conçu par les ingénieurs Nicolas Cadiat et Alphonse Oudry.
Construit par les forges du creusot ( Établissements Schneider )
- 1858 - Début de la construction.
- 1861 - Achèvement des travaux. Ouvert à la circulation.
- 1898 - Le tramway circule sur le Pont Tournant.
- Détruit en 1944.
